Nerve block is defined as the production of insensibility in a part of the body by injecting an anesthetic close to the nerves that supply it to prevent or control pain.
Prior to having an abdominal hysterectomy, the Anesthesiologist and his team performed a procedure within my abdominal region to prevent and control the pain called a Nerve Block.
After surgery the most pain I felt was in my back due to lying in the same position for so long during the procedure, but no pain in within my abdominal cavity. The nerve Block was working. For several days I was numb to the pain of having my uterus surgically removed via my abdomen. One day, the anesthetic of the Nerve Block wore off resulting in the ability to feel the surgical pain. Boy did it hurt like the dickens! My inside tore every time I sneezed, coughed or bend down.
So, it is in life. We walk around with self-administered Nerve Block to numb the pains of hurt and disappointment that life has dished out to us. We pretend that the hurt doesn’t exist, and all is well. Dressed to the nine, make-up on fleek hair and nails did, but when the aesthetics are washed off at night, we are vulnerable to sensibilities of the nerves in our hearts that once was numb to the pain. Because people focus on the visible façade that we present, our representative, they are unable to see that underneath is a wealth of hurt, pain and disappointment. A temporary feeling on insensibility hindering you from the actions and reactions that tear you up in the inside.
I challenge you today to allow the Nerve Block to wear off so that you will have a sensibility to the pain and disappointment within. It may hurt temporary; nevertheless, the pain is necessary for healing to take place. Our Father in heaven will heal the brokenhearted and set the captive free. Allow Him to not only heal you but set you free from the captivity of the things that holding you captive. You will no longer require the anesthetic to decrease the sensibility of pain.
Be free to feel in order to be healed.
